Project Information

The following capital improvement, bridge and maintenance projects are scheduled to be done in 2017. Completion of all projects is contingent on the availability of funds as appropriated by the Yates County Legislature and the current pricing of all necessary materials including oil and asphalt based materials needed to complete the projects. Expect delays and travel will be limited to one lane through the work zones. Alternate routes are suggested if you wish to avoid delays.

Capital Improvement Projects

  • CR Number 7, Flynn Road (1.82 miles): The project will consist of milling off 3 inches of existing pavement and placing 5.5 inches of new hot mix asphalt binder and top courses. The work will take place between City Hill Road and Himrod Road Recycled millings from the project will be used to install shoulders and traffic control lane striping will be completed by the Tri-County striping truck owned by Yates, Schuyler and Steuben counties.
  • CR Number 26, City Hill Road (3.02 miles): The project will consist of milling off 3 inches of existing pavement and placing 5.5 inches of new hot mix asphalt binder and top courses. Recycled millings from the project will be used to install shoulders and traffic control lane striping will be completed by the Tri-County striping truck owned by Yates, Schuyler and Steuben counties
  • CR Number 28, Leach Road (2.89 miles): The project will consist of milling off 3 inches of existing pavement and placing 5.5 inches of new hot mix asphalt binder and top courses. The work will take place between Himrod Road and NY Rte. 14. Recycled millings from the project will be used to install shoulders and traffic control lane striping will be completed by the Tri-County striping truck owned by Yates, Schuyler and Steuben counties
  • CR Number 46, Rock Stream Road (2.42 miles): The project will consist of milling off 3 inches of existing pavement and placing 5.5 inches of new hot mix asphalt binder and top courses. The work will take place between NY Rte. 14A and NY Rte. 14. Recycled millings from the project will be used to install shoulders and traffic control lane striping will be completed by the Tri-County striping truck owned by Yates, Schuyler and Steuben counties
  • CR Number 30., Second Milo Road (1.16 miles):The project will consist of milling off 3 inches of existing pavement and placing 5.5 inches of new hot mix asphalt binder and top courses. The work will take place between CR17, Bath Rd. and  NY Rte. 14A. Recycled millings from the project will be used to install shoulders and traffic control lane striping will be completed by the Tri-County striping truck owned by Yates, Schuyler and Steuben counties

Maintenance Projects

Crack sealing and surface treating (oil and stone) will start in May and June 2018 on numerous roads. Roads to be surface treated are: 

  • Himrod (2.95 miles from Leach Rd. to Penn Yan Village line)
  • Chubb Hollow (all 6.65 miles)
  • Italy Valley (3.48 miles from Italy Turnpike to Ontario County Line
  • Italy Turnpike (all 3.05 miles)
  • Italy Hill (1.76 miles from Darby's Corners rd. to Guyanoga Rd.)
  • Assembly Ave. & Central Ave. in Keuka Park (1.36 miles)
  • East Sherman Hollow (all 4.30 miles)
  • Lovejoy (0.46 miles from NY Rte. 364 to East Sherman Hollow)
  • Guyanoga (all 6.80 miles)

Other minor road and bridge maintenance projects will also be in progress throughout the construction season in various parts of the county that may result in some minor, localized delays and detours.

Bridges & Culverts

Loomis Road bridge in the Town of Middlesex will have the superstructure replaced during the summer of 2018.
