The 911 Center is located within the Yates County Public Safety Building, 227 Main St. Penn Yan, NY. The center has five dispatch positions outfitted identically with their own radio, telephone, and encoding systems. It is equipped with state of the art radio, computer, and telephone systems. Other advanced systems include national Weather Service, Homeland Security, and GIS mapping terminals. An auxiliary Emergency Operations Center is located in the Yates County Office Building in the event of an emergency at the Public Safety Building.

  The 911 Center serves several emergency services agencies. They include, but are not limited to 13 fire departments and first responder units, 5 ambulance corps and 5 law enforcement agencies. Those law enforcement agencies include the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, Penn Yan Police Department, New York State Police Dundee, New York State Department of Environmental Police, and the New York State Park Police.  Additionally, advanced life support and medical helicopter responses are coordinated by the E911 center.
