The Yates County Department of Social Services exists to empower
families and individuals to help themselves gain lasting self
sufficiency. We're committed to:

| Protecting the rights of those who are unable to protect
themselves. |
Coordinating Services and Resources for families:
We do our
best to find the most appropriate services for each person and family
we serve. While many of our programs are based on eligibility
guidelines, some are not. We work in partnership with many local
community organizations, service and religious groups. We coordinate
service plans and assistance with local businesses/employers, area hospitals,
schools and various human service professionals.
Mission and Vision:
The Mission of the Yates County Department of Social Services is
to offer to eligible residents of our community the financial
assistance and the appropriate human services resources necessary to
help them attain the greatest degree of independence possible, while
insuring the safety and promoting the health of the individual and
family.
Services will be provided in accordance with the laws, statutes,
and regulations governing Social Services programming in New York
State, and will further be provided fairly and equitably, treating
those whom we serve with the consideration and respect with which we
would expect to be treated.
