Jonathan Champlin               I am yet alive
haveig a little Spare time i thought
I would Rite to you a gane
When last I rote to you I was at
Doctor lew Allen Three miles below
Chealsey where I Started to go Out wolf
hunting. I am Know at Mr Hyetes one
and half miles from Emporium
I will Know give you a Shorte history
of my Bufalow hunt and wolf hunt
first Then I went out with four men
be sides my Self that was in our Company
and another Company of three.
After Leaving Chealsey
we went to the Arcansas River which
is about 40 miles from Chealsey theire these
men had hay put up for theire Catle
and a Cabin we had then left all
in habtance about 30 miles behind
before we reached a cabin we were almost
froze and we had to git up in the nite
and go on to a ranch for they were
afraid there Catle would freeze to death
we ware Sleeping in the wagon on
the open prairie We staid to the Cabin
four days on the account of the Cold
wether We then Stated up the Arcansaw
River and Traveled four days we Came
to bufalow at the mout of the Cow Crick
we had put out wolf bait evry nite
and had Cont Seven woulves About this
time I left the Company I got into
alitle fus with one of the men and noked
