Substances included in Local Law #1-18 are as follows:

- No tobacco use from cigarettes, cigars, chew, or pipes

-No liquid nicotine in E-cigarettes/vaping, JUULS, or any other nicotine-delivery devices

-Local Law #1-18 does not require anyone who uses tobacco products to quit; however, using these products is not allowed on County properties.  Also, the law does not prohibit products like nicotine patches, gum, lozenges, or nasal spray that are prescribed treatments for nicotine cessation purposes. 

-For anyone interested in quitting tobacco / or nicotine products, you are encouraged to talk with:

     *American Cancer Society's "Quit For Life" program at 1-866-784-8454

     *Your health care provider / physician

Also please note, the First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, and the Penn Yan Public Library, all neighbors of Yates County-owned property, have tobacco-free policies of their own on their premises. Tobacco/vaping use is prohibited on any of these properties & parking areas, as well.
