[ARCHIVED] Harmful Algal Bloom causing beach closure at Indian Pines Park

Blue-green algae-9-2016

The Department of Health recommends taking the following precautions:

  • Do not swim, wade, or fish near algal blooms or scum
  • Do not drink the water
  • Keep children and animals away from any blooms or scum
  • Rinse with clean water, if exposed.

The swim area will remain closed until the Dept. of Health issues a safe to re-open order. The Indian Pines playground, pavilion, and picnic areas remain open.

Report any symptoms due to exposure to blue-green algae such as skin or eye irritation, diarrhea, and vomiting to the Dept. of Health at 315-789-3030.
