[ARCHIVED] Yates County Sheriff - Temporary Procedure

Due to COVID-19 State of Emergency, when calling our non-emergency number 315-536-4438, you will be asked to provide a call back telephone number. A Deputy Sheriff will most likely contact you via telephone before arrival to assess the need for an in-person interview. For minor reports, Deputies will likely provide you with the report number and complete the report without personal interaction. If needed, please be prepared to step outside of your residence to meet a Deputy in an open environment. This is consistent with the recommended social distancing to prevent the spread of any illness. When you enter the Lobby to the Public Safety Building, a telephone is readily available to connect you with the Dispatcher. It will be determined if an officer is required to interview you. If so they will greet you at the security window at the Records Office to the lobby. Please call 911 for all emergencies and we will send the closest law enforcement officer to you.

Jail visitation has been temporarily suspended. You may call 315-536-5175 for further information. The Central Arraignment Plan courtroom (CAP) located off the Public Safety Building lobby shall admit a defendant and their attorney only at this time for proceedings.
