Yates County Partners with Foodlink to Provide Emergency Food Supply Boxes

As part of the effort to assist Yates County residents during this public health crisis, Yates County and Pro Action of Steuben and Yates Inc. is partnering with Foodlink to provide two community-wide food distributions. This will supply households with a 25-lb box of nonperishable food in response to the COVID-19 public health crisis.

These distributions will be “drive-through” and will be available to all county residents on the following dates:

Thursday, April 16, 11am-1pm at the Fireman’s Field, 110 Hicks Street, Penn Yan

In order to provide this service while keeping in mind the health of our residents, the following procedures must be followed;

  • To register, click the link. https://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/eventReg?oeidk=a07eh0mtv1e6c81841 Or call 315-536-5183 and follow prompt to receptionist. *Registration is on a first come, first served basis*
  • This will be a drive-thru model; clients must stay in car and put a piece of paper with first name and last name of registration and confirmation number in window facing out for staff to see. Following registration a confirmation number can be found in email following registration.
  • Please have trunk cleaned out so box of emergency food can be put into it.  Once your trunk is closed and tapped, you may drive away. This will be a no-touch distribution and proper social distancing must be maintained at all time.
  • No walk-ups; only pre-registered households in cars will be served.

“Thank you to Foodlink for partnering with Yates County to meet the emergency food needs of our community during the COVID-19 public health crisis,” says County Administrator Winona Flynn.  “We look forward to working with ProAction and The Hope Center Keuka Food Pantry to appropriately connect with Yates County residents.”
