The Yates County Chamber of Commerce and Lyons National Bank care about the safety of their residents’ identity. On Saturday, September 9, 2017, the two organizations are teaming up to host one of three annual Community Shred-It events. Community members and businesses are encouraged to bring items they would like shredded to the Yates County Chamber of Commerce, located at 2375 Route 14A, Penn Yan from 10 AM to 1 PM.

In 2016, over $16 Billion was stolen from 15.4 million U.S. consumers because of identity theft. Items that you may consider shredding include anything with your personal information, including your name, address, phone number, social security number, or bank account information. The event is free and open to the public. Please consider making a $2 donation per box to help offset the cost of the event. Businesses and residents are encouraged to participate.
