[ARCHIVED] Village of Dresden Boil Water Notice

Yates County Public Health was notified this afternoon (January 25th) that the NYSDOH has ordered a "Boil Water Notice" for the entire Village of Dresden following a water main break. Although the water main break has been fixed, the Boil Water Notice is in effect until further notice.  During the Boil Water Notice,  residents need to use bottled or boiled water for drinking, watering pets, cooking, washing dishes, brushing teeth, making infant formula, washing fruits & vegetables, and making ice.

It is okay to shower as long as you take precautions to avoid getting water in your mouth.  It is safe to do laundry as long as clothes are machine dried thoroughly before wearing.

The Village of Dresden will notify the community when the boil water notice has been lifted.  Anyone with questions can call the Village of Dresden Water Department.
