The key to any successful community arts center is community support – from artists, volunteers, local businesses, local government and donors from every walk of life. The Arts Center of Yates County’s Board of Directors invites everyone in Yates County to help celebrate these integral partnerships at its annual meeting on Monday, October 9th at Keuka College. The meeting includes dinner, live music, a silent auction, a wine pull and remarks by popular local thespian/photographer/reporter and Arts Center Board member John Christensen.
Registrations are now being taken for the annual dinner meeting, which includes music by Troy Cusson and a Festive Fajita dinner. Christensen will talk about the history of Penn Yan and the Sampson Theater. Artist of the Year Caryl Flickinger and Volunteer of the Year Bonnie Barney will be honored for their outstanding support and achievements in 2017.
The festivities will also include a wine pull, where everyone wins. Buy a wine cork and wine a mystery bottle of wine of equal or greater value than the purchase price. Or do some early holiday shopping at the silent auction, which includes a wide variety of unique and fun items, experiences and gift certificates. Committee co-chair Kathy McFiggen says “The silent auction will include items like a weekend at Sunny Point (the Arts Center’s lakeside facility), an Ethiopian dinner, a jewelry making class for you and your friends, original works of art, gift certificates and items from local merchants and more. Come ready to bid early and bid often!”
Everyone is welcome to join us, whether you’re a current member, future member or just interested in learning more about the Arts Center. Tickets are $38 per person and can be reserved by calling the Arts Center at 315-536-8226 or stopping by at 127 Main Street Penn Yan during regular business hours.
